The worlds largest Boreal forest that spans 8 countries is called Taiga and provides vital habitat for plants and native wildlife and is crucial to the climate as carbon is stored by the trees and oxygen produced. Taiga covers 3800 miles from The Atlantic coast to Alaska and is home to over 2000 species of mammal, fish, insects and birds.

Fauna species living in this eco system include Reindeer, Wolverine, Lynx ,Beaver, Brown bear and Siberian Tiger. This biome is at risk from re occurring wildfires, however these act to renew the forest health and regulate the wildlife.
